Professional profile

Anna Ridger has 16 years’ experience working in the NHS as a physiotherapist. She joined Wells Health at Fordcombe Hospital in June 2024 and provides goal-centred, evidence-based physiotherapy for adults and children.

In paediatric physiotherapy she aims to support children with a wide range of conditions, enabling them to fulfil their potential. She aims to promote normal movement, maximising function and independence.

As well as providing hands-on physiotherapy she provides tailored physiotherapy programmes for parents to carry out at home with their child, which are regularly reviewed and updated as needed.

Much of paediatric physiotherapy is through play and incorporating exercises through fun activities to allow children to progress in their own individual goals.

Where required Anna is happy to liaise with other professionals or educational settings involved in a child’s care. She can make onward referrals to specialists and paediatricians where required, and can make tailor programmes for educational/school/nursery settings to complete with the child. She is able to write a comprehensive report on the child and their needs.

When working with adults Anna works alongside the patient, helping formulate goals and treatment plans to enable them to progress, self-manage, reduce pain and improve their quality of life. She can make referrals to consultants and doctors and write reports as needed.
