Making a referral

You can refer NHS and private patients to Wells Health. We are here to support healthcare professionals access expert care for their patients with our quick and easy referral process.

We are recognised by all major insurers and accept self-funding patients for outpatient services including imaging, pathology and physiotherapy.

NHS services, including imaging, can be booked through the e-Referral system and we regularly update our directory of services to help meet your requirements.

Our teams will work with you to provide the highest level of care and safety, and fast access to our services.

There are a number of ways to refer private patients to Wells Health:

  • Submitting an online enquiry
  • Email
  • Telephone 

Private insured

  1. A GP referral letter from their GP can be emailed to mtw-tr.wellshealthoutpatientbookings@nhs.net or the patient can bring this to their first appointment.
  2. The patient will need to contact their insurance provider to check the treatment and get an authorisation code.
  3. The patient will need to contact our outpatient booking team on 01892 741 242 for an appointment.

Self-funding patients

  1. If required, the patient will get a GP referral letter.
  2. Patient will email mtw-tr.wellshealth@nhs.net or call 01892 741242 for an appointment.
  3. Patient brings referral letter with them to their appointment.
  4. We will provide a fixed price quote to the patient.
  5. They come in for their treatment. If further investigations or tests are needed the patient may incur additional costs but these will be made clear after the consultation.
  6. We will keep you informed of your patient's progress.
