Dr Gaurav Agarwal is a Consultant in Acute and General Medicine with a special interest in diabetes and endocrinology. He aims to offer holistic care on an inpatient or outpatient basis.
He is skilled in urgent and emergency management of acute medical illness as well as chronic healthcare conditions like breathlessness, chest pain, hormonal and nerve related disorders.
Dr Agarwal has a special interest in venous thromboembolism, leg/lung clots - deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism. He also looks after other common medical presentations like high blood pressure, pneumonia, stroke, mini-stroke (TIA), Atrial Fibrillation (AF) and thyroid dysfunction.
He is also well-versed in looking after patients with diabetes, cardiometabolic health, as well as nutritional deficiencies and maintaining wellbeing. He prides himself in explaining medical diagnoses and treatment plans in simple language to patients and their carers, and tries his best to get investigations as soon as possible.
Dr Agarwal is Lead Clinician for Acute Medicine at Tunbridge Wells Hospital, part of Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust. He trained in Acute and General Medicine in South London, Kent, Surrey and Sussex and lives locally. He is passionate about patient safety and quality of care and has won several awards in the education and training of junior doctors.
