Dr Krishnan Balasubramanian provides a comprehensive and holistic paediatric consultation including investigations, treatment, advice and ongoing care for medical and developmental problems in infants, children and adolescents.
He has been working with children since qualifying as a doctor in 1993. He completed his higher specialist training at Evelina Children's Hospital, London and other teaching hospitals in south east London. After gaining entry into the GMC’s specialist register in 2008, he joined as a Consultant Paediatrician at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust.
He has a special interest in paediatric cardiology and nephrology, working closely with cardiologists at the Royal Brompton Hospital in London and nephrologists at the Evelina Children's Hospital in London.
He regularly teaches medical students from King’s College London and St George’s University London, and is a visiting lecturer at London South Bank University.
Dr Balasubramanian provides paediatric simulation and resuscitation training for medical students and junior doctors and is a qualified instructor for the European Paediatric Life Support course. As a father, he is able to view children’s problems from the parents’ as well as the children’s perspectives.
He is a founding member of UK-registered charity PUNCH (Physicians United For Child Health), which aims to relieve sickness and to rehabilitate sick children. The charity provide and maintain medical equipment and offer training to medical, nursing and paramedic staff.
