Mr Navdeep Upile is interested in all aspects of ear, nose and throat (ENT) care and offers the full range of routine otorhinolaryngological procedures.
He has a specialist interest in laryngology (disorders of the voice) and head and neck, including thyroid and parotid surgery and minimal access surgery with transoral laser surgery.
Mr Upile has been a consultant since his appointment in 2019 at Queen Victoria Hospital NHS Trust. Before this he was awarded two competitive travelling fellowships: The College Family Memorial Fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons of England, and The Peel-Rothwell Jackson Postgraduate Travelling Fellowship.
These allowed him to undertake an advanced Head and Neck Surgical Fellowship at the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital, Australia.
Mr Upile has undertaken several hundred advanced head and neck procedures within his NHS practice.
In addition to his clinical work, has published widely in medical literature, has been invited to write book chapters, and routinely reviews for the journal Clinical Otolaryngology.
Mr Upile is the specialty ENT editor for the journal Annals of the Royal College of Surgeons of England, where he ensures only the highest academic standards are met by published articles.
He is also faculty on several courses, teaching the next generation of ENT surgeons.
