Mr Nicholas Bowman specialises solely in his chosen sub-specialty area of knee surgery, where he regularly performs knee joint replacements, cruciate ligament reconstructions and arthroscopic procedures on the knee such as meniscal repairs.

Mr Bowman is a graduate of Edinburgh University Medical School and completed his surgical training in London and Charing Cross Hospitals. He also gained international experience working in Australia for 18 months where he specialised in anterior cruciate ligament repairs. 

He was appointed Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Tunbridge Wells Hospital, Pembury in 2013 and Clinical Director of Orthopaedics in 2023.

Research and publications

Mr Bowman has published widely in knee surgery and his work has been presented at prestigious international conferences.

He continues to undertake clinical research at Tunbridge Wells Hospital into anterior cruciate ligament reconstructions in adolescents. He is principal investigator in two clinical trials; one in living donor ACL reconstruction and the Motion study.
