Our one-stop breast clinic at Fordcombe Hospital is led by expert consultants Mr Haresh Devalia and Mr Mohsin Dani, oncoplastic surgeons and offers you consultation, same-day imaging and results in one visit.

Discovering a breast lump can be upsetting but most are harmless and benign. Our experts do advise changes in your breast are investigated. 

Held on Mondays and Tuesdays, our relaxed and friendly clinic puts your comfort first, with expert consultants, radiologist, pathologist and nurses on hand to deliver a rapid yet accurate diagnosis.

The clinic provides a physical examination, breast imaging (mammography, ultrasound imaging), and fine needle aspiration cytology and core biopsy if required. In the same visit you will discuss your results with your consultant.

We also offer breast MRI facilities if required.

The clinic process

Initial assessment

Your assessment will be with one of our expert breast consultants, this will include a discussion of medical and family history and a physical examination.

 

Diagnostics and imaging

Based on your consultant’s recommendation and your permission, our specialist radiologists and nurses will perform the required diagnostics, this could include:

  • mammography
  •  ultrasound
  • MRI
  • biopsies*

*Biopsy results may not be available the same day and will require a follow-up appointment to discuss results. 

 

Follow-up

Once you have received your imaging, your consultant will see you in their outpatient room to discuss your results and treatment options (if required).

 

Further treatment

If further treatment is needed you can discuss your options with your consultant.

Wells Health is recognised by all major insurance companies so if you plan to use private medical insurance you can receive your treatment with us. We advise before speaking to our team that you check the treatment advised to you is covered in your policy.

For our paying for yourself patients, our friendly private team can provide you with transparent, no hidden fee options. 

Who can use the clinic?

The one-stop clinic is open to all – there is no need for medical insurance. If you don’t have private medical insurance or you have exclusions on your policy, one-off private treatment is available.

Do I need a referral?

Only if you have insurance. Referrals can also be made via your GP, accident and emergency doctor, or any other medical practitioner.

Self-funding patients may self-refer.
