Wells Health provides the ideal environment to deliver high-quality, patient-centred cardiology care. I value the supportive team, excellent facilities, and the opportunity to spend time with patients to ensure they receive the best possible treatment.
Dr Osman Najam is a consultant cardiologist with expertise spanning the full spectrum of heart disease, from prevention and risk assessment to the treatment of complex coronary conditions. He trained at leading London centres including King’s College, St George’s and St Thomas’ hospitals, and was awarded a highly competitive Academic Clinical Fellowship in Cardiology before completing a PhD at UCL.
His research has been published in leading journals including Nature, and brings this academic background together with clinical practice to provide evidence-based, patient-centred care.
Dr Najam specialises in general and interventional cardiology with particular expertise in the assessment and treatment of chest pain, palpitations, high blood pressure, and raised cholesterol. His interventional practice includes coronary angiography and percutaneous coronary intervention (angioplasty and stent implantation), including complex coronary procedures.
He also has a strong interest in preventative cardiology, cardiovascular risk assessment, and family screening for inherited heart conditions.
Dr Najam sees patients with chest pain, palpitations, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol. He also treats people with heart failure and those worried about their risk of heart disease, including patients with a family history. His specialist procedures include coronary angiography and stent treatment, and places strong emphasis on prevention and long-term heart health.
Alongside clinical work, Dr Najam has a strong interest in prevention and helping patients protect their heart health for the long term. He places particular emphasis on primary prevention: identifying risks early and supporting lifestyle changes that reduce the likelihood of future heart problems. His approach is centred on combining evidence-based treatment with a clear focus on longevity and wellbeing.
