Dr Polly Baker helps patients return to sport, work and day-to-day activities following injury, illness or persistent musculoskeletal problems.
She provides personalised management and rehabilitation plans and works closely with physiotherapists, podiatrists and other allied health professionals to support recovery.
Where appropriate, diagnostic ultrasound can be performed as part of the consultation, helping to inform diagnosis and treatment. Dr Baker also offers clinically guided and ultrasound-guided injections to help reduce pain and support rehabilitation.
Her practice encompasses the assessment and management of a range of musculoskeletal conditions, including neck-related headaches, concussion, shoulder pain (including rotator cuff disorders, impingement, frozen shoulder and instability), elbow and wrist pain, and problems affecting the hip, groin, knee, ankle and foot.
She sees patients with both acute traumatic injuries and longer-term overuse conditions, as well as those recovering from Long COVID.
Previously, Dr Baker worked at the Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre, Headley Court, where she led the tendinopathy service and helped develop the centre's COVID rehabilitation programme.
She has also worked with athletes at elite level, including Northampton Saints Rugby, Arsenal Women FC, Chelsea Academy and Great Britain Handball, including at the London 2012 Olympics.
