Mr Sri Mahalingam is a consultant ear, nose and throat (ENT) surgeon with an NHS practice at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust. He also practices privately in Tunbridge Wells and in Central London (Harley Street).

He is one of very few ENT surgeons in the UK to have gained highly advanced specialist training in rhinology (the management of nasal and sinus conditions). Having been awarded the European Rhinology Society Fellowship Prize, he feels privileged to have undertaken the Advanced Rhinology and Facial Plastic Surgery fellowship in Winchester/Southampton through international competition, which has allowed him to further his passion and sub-specialist interest nasal, sinus problems and facial reconstructive surgery.

He was subsequently awarded the British Society of Facial Plastic Surgery fellowship prize providing him with enhanced training in facial plastic surgery.

Mr Mahalingam graduated from University College London and has had training in all aspects of adult and paediatric ENT in prestigious centres in London, Cambridge, Kent, Surrey and Sussex, supplemented by further experience in centres of excellence in North America (New York and Toronto).

As well as treating all general adult ENT conditions, having trained at the Evelina Children’s Hospital (London), Mr Mahalingam also has expertise in managing children with ENT problems.

By mirroring his NHS practice and private practice, and actively monitoring patient outcomes following treatment, he tries to provide the best possible care to his patients.

Qualifications

Mr Sri Mahalingam completed a BSc at King’s College London (ranking top of his cohort), and an MSc in Surgical Sciences at the University of Edinburgh.

Research and publications

He is actively involved in research in ENT, and adopts novel treatments from across the world in order to benefit his patients. 

He led the national study for the British Rhinology Society during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, highlighting the impact on patient care., and has published over 25 peer-reviewed papers and book chapters for international publications and has been invited to give over 30 presentations at scientific meetings across the world.
