Mr Christopher Buckle is a consultant hip and knee surgeon practicing in Kent and East Sussex. He has been in clinical practice for 14 years and is an expert in the management of hip and knee conditions in adults.
His clinical practice comprises a range of hip and knee surgeries. This includes total and partial joint replacements, re-do (revision) surgeries for painful, problematic or infected joint replacements and joint preservation surgery. He performs approximately 300 hip and knee joint replacements per year.
As a member of the orthopaedic trauma service in East Sussex, he provides specialist management for fractures around joint replacements.
Mr Buckle is the clinical governance lead for the hip fracture service in East Sussex Healthcare Trust, one of the busiest services nationally. In addition to his clinical work, he is also a medical appraiser, and is a principal investigator on two national randomised control trials relating to hip replacements in trauma and total knee replacement techniques.
He studied and worked as a physiotherapist before a career in medicine. The knowledge and skills gained during this time continue to benefit his clinical practice and has helped cultivate a holistic, team-based approach to patient care.
