Mr Craig Zhao is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust specialising in the management of knee arthritis and sports injuries around the knee.

His specialist interests include anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction, knee arthroscopy, meniscal surgery, cartilage procedures, partial knee replacement and total knee replacement surgery. He strives to provide high quality and personalised care for his patients to achieve excellent outcomes.  

Craig graduated from University of Southampton Medical School in 2011 and completed his basic surgical training in the London Deanery. He undertook his specialist training in Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgery in the Kent, Surrey, Sussex Deanery.

He gained international experience in knee reconstruction working in Sydney, Australia, where he specialised in cutting edge technologies of knee replacement surgery, including robotics and personalised knee alignment.

He has undertaken fellowships in ACL surgery, meniscal surgery and alignment correction, has presented and published numerous research projects and is actively involved in orthopaedic research. He is passionate about education and has chaired numerous orthopaedic courses.
